SouthernBiotechnology Associates, Inc., now known as SouthernBiotech, was founded in 1982, by scientists from Dr. Max Cooper’s Cellular Immunology Laboratory at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB), as a company dedicated to the production, purification, conjugation and commercialization of the world’s highest quality, affinity purified, secondary antibodies for research use. As a result of ongoing internal product development and our acquisition of monoclonal antibody producing cell lines through technology transfer arrangements with leading research universities and institutions, we now provide a broad range of affinity purified, polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, including, fluorochrome and enzyme conjugates, Low Endotoxin/Azide Free (LE/AF) preparations, F(ab) and F(ab’)2 fragments, as well as, purified immunoglobulins and collagens. In addition to direct and OEM sales, our products are available through a global network, including, Fisher Scientific in the U.S. and other distributors throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, South America and the Pacific Rim.
